The Web hosting category is ruthless. How do you stand out in an industry dominated by a few players with huge marketing budgets? For MyriadNetwork, we did so by applying the laws of positioning. Most competitors emphasized the same value points: reliability, security, and pricing. Their sites were slick, somewhat futuristic, and presented a similar, "infomercial" communication style. Nothing unique here. To position the company, we started with a new name. MyriadNetwork suggests a company that carefully filters confusing IT options, choosing those that make sense for each client. From there, we built branding guidelines, wrote copy, created a new visual Identity, designed and coded, and created a memorable hosting brand that was the antithesis of the typical overstuffed, over-hyped company. |

What is the Wifi Revolution? It means wireless ISP service, with connection speeds as fast as cable. It means take your work to the cafe. Or, instant message your friends from the beach. Cable speeds. Full Internet access. No limitations. It means liberation from the tyranny of wires, at 100s of popular locations in your area. FirstSpot is a wireless ISP. We pursued a hip, playful design approach, in order to make their high-tech service accessible to a young, urban audience. |

Armada is the Southwest's largest SUV, truck, and car-rental company. They were also the first. But, you'd never know it from the appearance of their old website. Despite its reputation and accomplishments, Armada's website looked like a mom-and-pop company. This needed to change. We repositioned Armada as an energetic, established company: leaders in their industry. By balancing branding elements and usability considerations, we created a bold design that still retains its clarity and order. Instead of compromising between usability and "pretty" design, Armada's new website got both. |
