No place on earth enchants the senses like the Garden Isle. And no resort makes discovering Kauai more captivating than Kiahuna Beachside. Our mission was to clearly convey all this, not only in words, but in images and in the design of the new Kiahuna website – a high-end beach resort.

Successful Hosting instructed Transform Agency to make something "PixelBrickean" ;-) in order to create buzz, get some free press, and attract their young, geeky demographic. This was a pure design and rebranding project.

With assignment in hand, we undertook to improve upon the clichés of the 2advanced school of design, banning the use of frightening, organic machines, post-apocalyptic scenery, overindulgence in Flash, and strobe effects. Can a site be both cool and usable? SuccessfulHosting begs the question.

World Masks is an example of a portfolio site. Artists, photographers, and craftspeople can arrange their online portfolio to feature new or interesting pieces. Pieces are added and arranged, and old pieces are deleted using a browser-based content management system (CMS).

Artists or photographers can also edit meta-keywords for each piece to help achieve high search-engine rankings. The World Masks website colors were chosen to compliment the Mediterranean product theme and to showcase the rich, traditional colors of Venice.

It's always challenging to come up with design ideas that differentiate our clients from many clone-like competitors. Web Intellects wanted a consumer-friendly look: mainstream, accessible, and unintimidating. Their existing website was hopelessly dated and the emotional tone was glum. We needed to pick up the energy ... without conveying "slickness," which could erode credibility. Working with the client's existing logo and retaining their recognizable color palette, we proposed these initial designs and created over 100 inner pages (including many innovative Ajax features) for this Web-hosting leader.
